I was able to walk this weekend in the gorgeous weather! It is good to stop and have some solitude and I have been able to do that some today without the family at home and not too many distractions, except the dogs! I know God wants me to listen and I need to practice doing that more! Thanks for reminding me to do so.
I woke up about 4 this morning so had a built in chance to practice solitude. It amazes me how my mind can run in a million different directions at once. I'm sure glad God is patient with me.
I got to spend some time alone and silent yesterday, and yes it does the soul good. My mind is hard to quiet, but God is with us all. God can best be heard when I am still and I must try to quiet my mind as I practice Solitude. God help me, to do the hard work of that.
I accepted your challenge to find more time away from the everyday hustle. My father was a disciplinarian as well however; I most remember him for the last year of his life and the time God let me have with him. I discovered his faith, his love for God and me. So I decided to visit him and God. It was completely quite, only the blue sky and gentle wind. I was able to set aside the problems of the world, in my eyes. God helped me find peace and gave me time to open my heart and soul to God. Our visit was only a short time but my heart was filled with peace just knowing they were both listening. Today’s solitude and “one on one” visit with God will be hard to top yesterday’s. But I can't wait to try. Thank you God for all that you do and the love and peace you gave to me. Thank you Pastor, for this wonderful challenge.
Geary,
Thanks for sharing. Fathers are hard to get to know for sons, seems that way to me. Thnx for sharing your thoughts. Hope you can take the challenge each week.
